About Maple & Hickory

The shop is named after the owner’s two rescue dogs: Maple (named for hard maple wood) and Hickory (named for hickory wood). The founder’s woodworking journey started in childhood making miniature pianos and clocks to earn money for video games. After a break and an attempt to build a farmhouse dining table in 2018, the maker re-committed to woodworking and now operates a full workshop equipped with traditional tools, a CNC, and a laser cutter.
